October 15th, 2008. Six years ago today. That was the day that our company was born. Ironically enough, when Jeffrey and I officially started PEG, we never had any idea that it would grow into what it is today.
My background was in sports, specifically in game production/entertainment. Jeffrey’s speciality was making videos and graphics that looked awesome. I like to say that back in the day I taught him everything he knows, but realistically I taught him everything he knew…in the first two weeks. He now leads our excellent creative department in creating things that six years ago would have been unfathomable. There’s virtually nothing that they can’t create. They blow my mind on a daily basis.
Back in 2008, Jeffrey and I were largely a two-person operation when PEG began. Since then, we’ve continued to grow. Between our production, video, graphics and event teams, we now are proud to have 30 team members that we get to work with in various capacities. Without each and every one of them, we couldn’t have become the company that we are today. I’m thankful for them every single day.
Today, our crew at the office celebrated our company’s sixth birthday with cake, balloons and a pizza party. We were joking earlier that it’s also pretty much the way that most six year old children celebrate their birthdays.
We get to work in a creative industry, where thinking outside the box is often the difference between creating something unique and memorable, as opposed to something that just gets the job done. To do that, you need to use your imagination, not always take the easiest road, and above all else, have fun while you’re doing it. So perhaps a celebration fit for a six year old is appropriate after all.
Happy birthday, PEG.
