5 Things We’ve Been Watching : June 2018

We love video here at PEG (obviously) and talk about it pretty much non-stop. So, we wanted to share with you five things that caught our eye, started a conversation or gave us a little inspiration over the last month.

Russia

Watch It Here

Why it’s a thing: We have said before, we love a good tourism-based video. And we especially love one that is out of box, or in this case, IN the box? The use of the graphic shapes throughout and the way the interact with the images/video is something we hadn’t seen before.

Impossible Happens Here

Watch It Here

Why it’s a thing: For this one, we might be a little biased, because we love the Golden Knights and Las Vegas. But not only does this spot use a great voice over and song selection to create emotion throughout the video, but the variety of shots (aerial, timelapse, selfie-style, traditional, etc.) is super effective in helping to set the mood and tell the story.

Back to the Moon – 360°

Watch It Here

Why it’s a thing: This one is so fun. It is an adorable tale portrayed with a very cute animation style, but the reason we love it is it uses 360 video so well. The main character travels around the space and often off-screen, so you have to follow him around to get the full story. It is such a beautiful use of 360 video technology!

Gatorade | Bring The Heat | NOTHING BEATS GATORADE

Watch It Here

Why it’s a thing: Sports ads can all start to feel the same. This Gatorade spot, though, used some very creative kinetic back and forth to create a very interesting transitions and a dynamic back and forth during this spot. You can practically feel the tension!

MJ Hegar – Doors

Watch It Here

Why it’s a thing: Living in a swing state, we see our fair share of political ads. But this one was pretty great. MJ Hegar’s ad is VERY non-traditional and it got people far outside her district talking, not just us!
